Let’s Grow Environmental Leadership Together

Make One Donation,
Then Multiply by 60

Read the Spring 2014 letter to Earth Island Institute supporters from Board President, Michael Mitrani and make a tax-deductible donation to Earth Island Institute.

Earth Island’s approach is an effective model for empowering individuals to follow their passion, and bring their expertise and motivation in service to our environment and fellow citizens.

Together, we can make it possible for emerging and experienced environmental leaders to shape their dreams into successful strategies for a sustainable future. Your generosity will help us to continue providing grassroots environmental leaders with the tools they need to protect our shared planet.

By making a gift to Earth Island you can multiply the effect of your contribution and provide vital support to an entire global network working on issues such as global climate change, wildlife protection, river restoration, sustainable agriculture, plastics pollution, and getting young people outdoors.

25th Anniversary of Earth Island’s Dolphin Safe Tuna Program

Established in 1990 by Earth Island’s International Marine Mammal Project (IMMP), the Dolphin Safe International Monitoring Program checks to ensure that tuna is caught without harm to dolphins. Before 1990, dolphin deaths in tuna nets were running about 80,000 to 100,000 annually. These numbers have been reduced by 99%.

Earth Island monitors 515 tuna companies in 73 countries to protect dolphins. We were the first and so far most successful food labeling program in the world for environmental protection.
