Earth Island’s approach is an effective model for empowering individuals to follow their passion, and bring their expertise and motivation in service to our environment and fellow citizens.
Together, we can make it possible for emerging and experienced environmental leaders to shape their dreams into successful strategies for a sustainable future. Your generosity will help us to continue providing grassroots environmental leaders with the tools they need to protect our shared planet.
By making a gift to Earth Island you can multiply the effect of your contribution and provide vital support to an entire global network working on issues such as global climate change, wildlife protection, river restoration, sustainable agriculture, plastics pollution, and getting young people outdoors.

Global Womren’s Water Initiative
As water bearers and family caretakers, women and girls are disproportionately affected by the lack of access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). Our newest project, Global Women’s Water Initiative (GWWI) is changing that.
Spearheaded by Echoing Green Fellow Gemma Bulos, GWWI trains women in East Africa to become WASH experts, trainers and social entrepreneurs, unleashing their leadership potential to build water technologies, generate income and solve some of their communities most pressing issues. Learn more about their astounding impact here.
