The Whittier Narrows Nature Associates and LA County Department of Parks and Recreation collaborated to remove invasive plants and trash from a 40 acre area of the San Gabriel River using volunteers and “At Risk Youth” Crews. In conjunction with an environmental education fair at the site, two hundred native trees and shrubs were planted to provide habitat for wildlife.
