San Dieguito North Bank Restoration
Grantee: San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy
Total Cost: $27250
The San Dieguito River Valley Regional Park cleaned up approximately 30 tons of wood, concrete, and other debris that was dumped along about 200 linear feet of the Santa Ysabel Creek stream bank. After the site was cleaned, the bank was stabilized using erosion control techniques and planted with native species. The restored stream is now more stable and provides additional wildlife habitat in an area with endangered species. Other benefits include increased biodiversity, filtration of agricultural run-off from the orange grove, and educational opportunities for volunteers, school groups, and trail users.
