The Northern Wildlife Preserve is a locally rare wetland habitat. The Mangrove Removal Project will enhance an area of the marsh through the removal of non-native grey mangrove. It will also increase citizen participation in wetland habitat restoration activities in San Diego County and enhance opportunities for research and educational programs to be conducted at the preserve.
