Matilija Creek, North Fork
Restoration: Non-native plant removal and trash removal
Grantee: The C.R.E.W.
Award: $29000
Total Cost: $75000

The project used a C.R.E.W. workforce of 85 predominantly disadvantaged youth to restore a 3 to 4 mile reach of the North Fork Matilija Creek, a Steelhead spawning system, along Highway 33. The CREW removed debris, including automobiles, as well as select non-native plants invading both riparian and scenic highway areas. WAY TO GO, CREW!!
