Ann Arnold is a local still-life painter. Her garden has many interesting forms of vegetation that she uses for inspiration. Her current focus is oil paintings on walnut panels. In 1992, she illustrated Alice Waters’ Fanny at Chez Panisse. Her picture book biography of a 19th Century French chef, The Adventurous Chef: Alexis Soyer, was published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in 2002.
