Indigenous Natural and Cultural Heritage

We're convinced that the survival of indigenous south-central Siberian cultures – the Telengit, Kumandin, Shor, Tubalar, Chalkan, and of course the Altai – is inextricably linked with successful nature conservation in the Altai.
Often those working for nature protection and those defending their traditional cultural heritage are one and the same people.
We plan to carry forward efforts begun with Sacred Earth Network to support regional NGOs in their work identifying and protecting sacred and other traditional lands in Kemerovo Oblast and Altai Republic.
